2. Proof of Ownership
For security reasons, we may require proof of ownership or lawful authority to access a vehicle before carrying out any work.
Suitable identification or documentation may be requested.
We reserve the right to refuse a service if we are not satisfied that the customer has lawful authority to access or have work carried out on the vehicle.
3. Quotes and Prices
Where possible, we will provide an estimated price before work begins.
Quotes may depend on the vehicle, key type, programming requirements, parts required and the condition of the vehicle.
If additional work or parts are required that were not included in the original quotation, we will discuss this with you before proceeding wherever reasonably possible.
4. Call-Outs
Where advertised, there is no call-out charge for our standard service. This does not necessarily mean that all work is free of charge.
You will be responsible for the agreed cost of the service, parts and any additional work authorised by you.
5. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in advance.
We accept the payment methods advertised by DR FOBS, which may include debit and credit cards and other electronic payment methods.
Ownership of supplied goods remains with DR FOBS until payment has been received in full.
6. Replacement Keys and Parts
Replacement keys, key fobs, remotes and other parts supplied will be suitable for the vehicle based on the information available to us.
Where a customer supplies their own key, remote, transponder or part, we cannot guarantee its compatibility, quality or functionality.
If a supplied part is faulty or unsuitable, any replacement or additional programming may incur further charges.
7. Key Programming
Vehicle key programming and coding can depend on the vehicle's existing systems, security features and condition.
We cannot be held responsible for pre-existing faults, damaged control modules, immobiliser faults, electrical faults or other vehicle problems that prevent successful programming.
We will always aim to explain any issues encountered and advise you of the available options.
8. Vehicle Lockouts
We will take reasonable care when gaining entry to a locked vehicle.
However, older vehicles, damaged locks, faulty locking systems or pre-existing damage may make entry more difficult.
We will not be responsible for damage that was already present before our arrival or damage resulting from a pre-existing fault or defect.
9. Customer Responsibility
You are responsible for providing accurate information about the vehicle, including its make, model, year and registration where applicable.
You must inform us of any known faults, damage, security issues or previous attempts to gain entry to or repair the vehicle.
10. Cancellation
If you need to cancel an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where work has already commenced, or parts have been specifically ordered for your vehicle, cancellation may result in charges being payable.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
11. Warranty
Where applicable, we will provide details of any warranty relating to parts or workmanship.
Any warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental damage, modification, unauthorised repairs or faults unrelated to the work carried out by DR FOBS.
12. Liability
We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by pre-existing faults, defects or damage to the vehicle.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or your statutory consumer rights.
13. Delays
We aim to provide a fast and reliable service, but estimated arrival times are not guaranteed.
Traffic, weather, emergency call-outs, equipment failure and other circumstances outside our reasonable control may cause delays.
14. Data Protection
We may collect and retain customer information necessary to provide our services, process payments, maintain records and communicate with customers.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable UK data-protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.
15. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us as soon as possible so that we have the opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
We aim to deal with complaints fairly, professionally and promptly.
16. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version published on our website at the time of your booking will generally apply to that service.
17. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any applicable consumer rights.
